How to Use

Requirements

  • Must have atleast 1 Telegram account.

Install Telegram Integration in Odoo

  1. Activate developer mode
  2. Go to Apps
  3. Click on Update Apps List
  4. Search and install Telegram Integration

Create Bot in Telegram and copy credentials to Odoo

  1. Go to web.telegram.org
  2. Sign In account
  3. Search @BotFather in the search area
  4. Type the following command '/start'
  5. To create a new access token, type the following keywords '/newbot'
  6. Enter your bot's name and username

    Copy your access token

  7. In Odoo, go to the Settings click Technical menu choose Telegram/Bots
  8. Paste the API Access Token from Telegram then save

Add recipients in Odoo

  1. Go to web.telegram.org
  2. Sign In account
  3. Search @userinfobot in the search area
  4. Type the following command '/start' and copy your Telegram id
  5. In Odoo, go to the Settings click Technical menu choose Telegram/Chats/Recipients
  6. Paste the Telegram id from Telegram then save

Create Telegram templates in Odoo

  1. In Odoo, go to the Settings click Technical menu choose Telegram/Templates
  2. In Content tab, set the body format and message body.
  3. Set the bot and recipients in Bot Configuration tab.

Use a Dynamic Placeholder Generator in Templates

  1. In Odoo, go to the Settings click Technical menu choose Telegram/Templates
  2. Click Dynamic Placeholder Generator tab.
  3. Choose which field you want to use.
  4. Set a default value.
  5. Copy the placeholder expression.
  6. Paste it to the message body in Content tab.
  7. Click the Preview smart button

Create Automated Action with Telegram in Odoo

  1. In Odoo, go to the Settings click Technical menu choose Automation/Automated Actions
  2. Select "Send Telegram Message" in Action To Do field.
  3. Choose your newly created template.
  4. Go to web.telegram.org
  5. Search your Telegram bot with the set username.
  6. Type the command /start
  7. In Odoo, trigger your Automated Action with the set Model and Trigger fields.
  8. Check your Telegram account for message.

Create Group Chat in Telegram and add your Telegram Bot

  1. Go to web.telegram.org
  2. Create a group chat as shown below.
  3. Choose a member including your Bot.
  4. Enter a name for your Group Chat.
  5. Add @RawDataBot to your Group as shown below.
  6. NOTE: Make sure to kick @RawDataBot afterwards.

    Click the highlighted parts shown in the images.

    Now find @RawDataBot and add it to your Group.

  7. Copy chat id.
  8. In Odoo, go to the Settings click Technical menu choose Telegram/Chats/Recipients
  9. Paste chat id in Telegram id field.
  10. Go to Settings click Technical menu choose Telegram/Templates
  11. In Bot Configuration tab, add your newly created recipient in Recipients field.
