Record and Embed Audio or Video in Html Editor
Enhance Odoo Html editor(Summernote)
Key Highlights
- Enable html editor of odoo by enabling recording feature.
- Support audio recording and embed.
- Support video recording and embed.
- Support download after record.
- Recording icons come by default in odoo studio html editors.
- Except Odoo Studio, developer need to add audio, video tag in html toolbar. Screen is attached at bottom.

After install, audio/video icons is enabled inside html editor to record audio/video respectivily.
Once you click on video record icon, it will ask camera permission to access video. You can start recording then
Play or Download video after recording, just to preview before embed.
Click on save to embed video in editor.
Once you click on Record audio icon, it will ask microphone permission system microphone to record.
Play or Download audio after recording.
Click on save to embed audio in editor.
To add these plugins in website and other modules. Add ['video', ['video', 'audio']] in wysiwyg editor toolbar.

AS Odoo changed html editor in v15 and v16, we need to completely rewrite this plugin and right now I am stuck with some other high priority. It will take some time and your help will really appretiate here.

Odoo studio? So this module is mainly for those with Odoo enterprise. Ok.

For Odoo Backend these extensions come automatically in every HTML field after installing the module.
For Odoo Frontend(Odoo Website) developer have to add the ['video', ['video', 'audio']] in code to use these extensions in HTML editor.

I fully agree with you that this ease the process of recording video. I just don't see any other application of this module other that within LMS eLearning with ORA, making questions/prompts in video or audio format. This does not enable to embed local video as a lesson for example.

It should be available in odoo studio by default wherever html editor is coming.
And it is enabled in ORA and other modules can adapt it easily if they want.

How is this module used, except in combination with LMS eLearning with ORA app?!

Using this, we are easing user to record audio and video and add in editor quickly. He doesn't need to use some third party tool to record and save as file then upload in editor, it was hassle earlier.
Good part is, It works in mobile as well.
Audio and video is most intractive way to explain user.
It would be great, if you share your thoughts as well.
