Description

  1. The basic interface of the Odoo-Google Translator app has a very simple and user-friendly dashboard.
  2. On the dashboard of this app, there is a ‘Translate’ button, which translates the product’s specifications based on the configuration that you provide by clicking on the ‘Configuration’ option adjacent to it.
  3. Then, there are three smart buttons. The first out of which is ‘Languages’. Users can activate their desired language from this option.
  4. The second one is ‘Translation’. The translations of all the words are stored in this option. Users can directly go to the models and check their translations.
  5. The third button is ‘Logs’. You can see everything that has been translated by clicking on the Logs button.
  6. In the ‘Configurations’ menu, you have to first select the language from the ‘Language’ option in which you want to translate. Then, there is ‘Model Name’ which includes Odoo’s default model, models of any third-party, customs, or add-ons. You have to select one of them in the ‘Model Name’.
  7. Then, in this menu, there is a ‘Sync with Specific ID’ option, which you can tick to save a particular record by mentioning the Id of the record and then clicking on the ‘Save’ button.
  1. On executing the ‘Translate’ button in the dashboard, the processes start to run in the background. Users can freely do anything on their server during this time as well. During this time, users can check logs to see what’s getting updated.
  2. Now, for example, if the model you performed translations on, is regarding a product. Then, you can check with that product if its translations got updated or not.
  3. Under the ‘Products’ section, clicking on the extreme right side of the ‘Product Name’ field, a ‘translate: name’ list opens where you can see the name of your product automatically translated into your desired language. So, you don’t have to store anything manually.
  4. The same translation will be reflected on your website as well. Clients can change the translation to display the product’s specifications in any particular language. This is very useful for clients with some language barriers.
  5. The translations get updated on the front-end as well as the back-end of your website.

Limitation and Restrictions

  • In backend, only those fields are translated which have "translate=True" on the time of declaration.
  • It can translate approximately 15000 translations per day.
  • All the languages should have valid ISO code in order to perform translation.
  • Not all the sentence are translated for the frontend. Only limited translation for the website.
  • If queue fails due to the request timeout that is day limit reached, it will auto trigger after every 60 minutes.

Hello Duong

In the Odoo Google Translator module we have given the option to translate the website.

Basically, there is a model "ir. translation" in Odoo, and our module is fully dependent on that model, So it only translates the records of the website which is present in this "ir.translation" model.

If you have any other concerns or queries please feel free to reach out to us at odoo.helpdesk@ksolves.in

Thanks

Hello Ibrahim,

Thanks for reaching out to us,

We have checked the concern that you have shared with us and the log is generating because you have not configured it before performing the "Translate" operation. In the configuration there are two options "Frontend" and "Backend", if you will choose "Frontend" then it will translate the website and if you will select "Backend" then you need to choose the model which you want to translate.

And currently in the demo server only "Backend" operation is selected, no any model is selected inside its configuration, that is why you are getting this log. So please first
select any model from the configuration and then perform the "Translate" operation.

If you have any other concerns or queries please feel free to reach out to us at odoo.helpdesk@ksolves.in

Thanks,

Team Ksolves!

Hi, I am looking for an app that will translate product terms that will be shown on the website - for example product name, attributes, sales description, and tab information for specifications. Can you please suggest which app is best?

Hello David,

Thanks for reaching out to us.

Odoo Google Translator translates only the translatable fields i.e. the fields which is having "Translate = True". Like if you want to translate the products then it will translate all the fields of the product which have "Translate = True" enable, it will not translate the other fields. And it is the Odoo default functionality that for translating any fields, the field should have "Translate = True".

And we have also given the option to translate the front end i.e. Website. But it does not provide the full translation of the Website, basically, there is a model "ir.translation" in Odoo, and our module is fully dependent on that model, So it only translates the records of the website which are present in this "ir.translation" model.

Further for your other concerns or queries, we would like to connect you & guide you with our experts. Please write to us at sales@ksolves.com & odoo.helpdesk@ksolves.in.

Thanks,

Team Ksolves!

Hello, I don't understand if the translation is stored in the odoo database forever, or if google translates every time a visitor visits the site

Hello Salomão,

Thanks for reaching out to Ksolves! Please find below the reply to your query.

Our "Odoo-Google Translator" does not translate every time a visitor visits the site, you need to perform the translation only once and the translation gets stored in the database and it will be reflected immediately as the language changes.

If you have any other concerns or queries, please feel free to reach out to us odoo.helpdesk@ksolves.in.

Thanks,

Team Ksolves!
