Contract

The contracts module allows you to create contracts through a form. Thanks to it, it is possible to form the text of contracts with chapters and paragraphs within these chapters. Thanks to the version system, you can create new versions based on existing ones and improve them, and then publish and sign them when they are approved by the customer.

Features

All contracts in one place

You can store all contracts in one place. So it's easy to find the one you need!

Fast creation of new contracts

Quickly create new contracts based on an existing one. To do this, it is enough to duplicate an existing contract.

Publication and signing of contracts

You can publish versions and thus keep track of current versions, and then sign when the customer has agreed on a version of the contract.

Creating contract versions

Sometimes customers don't like some points of the contract. To track changes in the contract, you can create versions of the contract, which are then sent to the customer for approval.

How to use

Step 1: Install the module

Open the Apps menu in your Odoo and install the module "Contract".

Step 2: Create a new contract record

When opening the Сontract module for the first time, you will see a blank screen. You need to click the "New" button to create the contract record.

Step 3: Add partner and contract information

When opening a new contract form, you need to fill in all required fields and click "Save" at the top of the form. As long as the contract is successfully saved, you should click on the "Versions" button on the top right of the form to manage contract versions.

Step 4: Contract versions list

When opening the contract version list, you will see the first automatically created blank version of the contract.

Step 5: Open the contract version

When opening the contract version, you will see the list of contract sections. To create a new section for the contract, click on the "New Section" button. To publish a version, you should click on the "Publish" button.

Step 6: Create a contract section

To create a new section, you should fill in the section number and section name and click "Create".

Step 7: Open section clauses list

After saving the section, you should click on it and open the section clauses list. To create a new clause, click on the "New Clause" button.

Step 8: Section clause creation

After clicking on the "New Clause" button, the clause form will be opened. Fill out the form and click "Create.".

Step 9: Publish the contract version

To fix the contract version, you should publish it (click on "Publish Version"). When the version is published, it's not editable. If you need to change something in the contract version, you need to cancel the publication first.

Step 10: View the published and draft version

When the contract isn't signed, you can see the last published version and list of draft versions on the contract form in the "Versions" menu.

Step 11: Create a new contract version

When you need to create a new contract version based on the existing one, you need to click on the "New version" button and choose the base contract version.

Step 12: Sign the contract

When the contract is ready or you just want to sign a contract without a version, you should click on the "Sign" button and choose the type of sign. After that, click on the "Sign" button.

Step 13: Signed contract view

When the contract is signed, the published and draft contract versions will be hidden. When the contract is done, you can close it by clicking on the "Close" button.

Step 14: Add annexes

In some cases, we need to add annexes to the contract. To add an annex, click on the "Specifications" menu on the contract form and click "Add a line." Fill in the form and save it.

Step 15: View the annexes list

To view all annexes, click on the menu "Contracts" and "Annexes." The list of annexes will be opened.
