Freightview Delivery

Description

This  Module is configured to create a quote based on the information sent from Odoo. It will provide multiple rates for various carrier services, allowing us to either schedule the shipment via Freightview portal or book the shipment through Odoo and also syncs back the tracking information and the shipping cost to Odoo.

Configuration

Go to Inventory - - > Configuration - - > Shipping Methods.

Select " Freightview " as the shipping method, and copy the API credentials from the Freightview site into the fields under the Freightview Configuration tab. These steps are required in order to establish a connection with Freightview.

Inorder to access the freightview API credentials,

Navigate to Freightview Portal. After Logging in, click on Settings gear icon - - > API Integration.

Copy the API configuration keys such as Account API key, User API key, Client ID and Client secret from the portal to Freightview Shipping method in Odoo as mentioned earlier.

Functionality

There are two scenarios:

  • From Odoo to Freightview

  • Within Odoo

(Products: With Package & Without Package, With same LTL class & With different LTL classes)

  • From Odoo to Freightview (Without Package)

Go to Sales. Create a new quotation for two products with the same LTL class for which a sale order is created. Confirm the sale order. Open the delivery order.

  1. Products with same LTL class are chosen for this case as shown below,

In the delivery order under Additional Info tab, choose the carrier as Freightview  which automatically displays two tabs namely Freightview Options  & Freightview Rate .

Enable the necessary booleans under the Freightview Options tab and then click on the “ Create Quote in Freightview ” button which directs you to the Freightview portal.

The Product details, pickup address and delivery address which are fetched from the corresponding delivery order will appear in the portal.

We can choose the carrier based on the price. After choosing the carrier, we can find the pick up, deliver and the products with the same LTL class are to be packed in the same box. Click on Schedule pickup & print BOL button after reviewing the details.

The order will be scheduled as per the below image which includes PRO#, BOL#, the rate, Pickup Date, From Address and To Address details.

Go back to the delivery order and click on the “ Get shipment info from freightview ” button.

The Shipping Cost , Actual Carrier Name  and the Tracking Reference  values are propagated from the freightview portal.

Validate the delivery order and click on “ View Shipment in Freightview ” to view the shipment in Freightview portal.

Within Odoo (Without Package)

Go to Sales. Create a new quotation for two products with different LTL classes for which a sale order is created. Confirm the sale order. Open the delivery order.

  1. Products with different LTL classes are chosen for this case as shown below,

In the delivery order under Additional Info tab, choose the carrier as Freightview  which automatically displays two tabs namely Freightview Options  & Freightview Rate .

Enable the necessary booleans under Freightview Options tab and after clicking on Get Rates  under Freightview Rate tab, we can find out carriers with their corresponding rates from which lowest price is selected automatically.

Then, click on the “ Review Quote in Freightview ” button which redirects to the Freightview portal to review the corresponding shipment details.

We can view the products with different LTL classes to be packed in different boxes.

Click on “ Book in Freightview ”. The shipment will be booked in the Freightview portal.

Note : In this Within Odoo  workflow, If the user has mistakenly scheduled the shipment through Schedule pickup & print BOL , we can also import the tracking details and shipping cost through the  “Book in Freightview ” button.

The Shipping Cost , Actual Carrier Name  and the Tracking Reference  will be propagated from the Freightview portal to Additional Info Tab of the delivery order.

We can verify the details as per the Freightview portal as shown below.

After validating the delivery order, Click on the “ View Shipment in Freightview ” button which propagates to the freightview portal where we can view the shipment details.

From Odoo to Freightview (With Package)

Go to Sales. Create a new quotation for two products of the same LTL class for which a sale order is created. Confirm the sale order. Open the delivery order.

In the delivery order under Additional Info tab, choose the carrier as Freightview  which automatically displays two tabs namely Freightview Options  & Freightview Rate .

Enable the necessary booleans under the Freightview Options tab.

Click on  Put in Pack  which opens a window to fill the package details.

Click on Packages  to view the package set for the two products.

Click on the “ Create Quote in Freightview ” button which directs you to the Freightview portal.

The Product details, pickup address and delivery address which are fetched from the corresponding delivery order will appear in the portal.

We can choose the carrier based on the price. After choosing the carrier, we can find the pick up, deliver and the products with the same LTL class are to be packed in the package of the same box. Click on Schedule pickup & print BOL  after reviewing the details.

Within Odoo (With Package)

Go to Sales. Create a new quotation for two products with different LTL classes for which a sale order is created. Confirm the sale order. Open the delivery order.

In the delivery order under Additional Info tab, choose the carrier as Freightview  which automatically opens two tabs namely Freightview Options  & Freightview Rate .

Click on Put in Pack  and fill the package details. Then, add the packages for the products.

Click on “ Get Rates ” under Freightview Rate which will show you the different carriers along with their prices. We can choose the carrier based on the price.

Click on Book in Freightview which will book the shipment in Freightview.

We can see the carrier with a low price is booked for shipping.

The Shipping Cost, Actual Carrier Name and Tracking Reference field values are propagated from freightview.

When you click on View Shipment in Freightview, the information will be visible in freightview.

Validate the delivery order.

Configuration

Set the API key in shipping method using the following steps.

  • Create an API Key in Freightview
  • Navigate to this https://www.freightview.com/app#settings/api-preferences url in browser and then copy the ACCOUNT API KEY.
  • Go to Sales -> Configuration -> Sales Orders -> Shipping Methods and search the Freightview Records.
  • Click on it and paste the api key in Freightview API Key field.
