What it does
In addition to the job position (brought by the module Employee) and grade (brought by the module Employee Grade) and role (brought by the module Employee Role), this module provides Employee Ranks.
A rank is defined by combining the grade and role of an employee. For example, we have a Product Developer as a role, Junior and Senior are grades. By combining those, we will have 2 ranks:
- Junior Product Developer
- Senior Product Developer
On the employee form, HR officer can specify role and grade of an employee, then the software will automatically assign a corresponding rank (if any) to the employee.
Editions Supported
- Community Edition
- Enterprise Edition

Instruction
Instruction video: HR Employee Rank
1. Active developer mode (debug) and create employee ranks in Employee software.
Go to Employees > Configuration > Ranks > Create, and the system automatically identifies the ranks by the combination between the employee roles and levels.
For example, your company has a role named Design Specialist and Junior and Senior levels, so with the combination of them, we will have the following roles:
- Design Specialist | Junior.
- Design Specialist | Senior.
2. Employee ranks in the employee profile
Go to Employees > Employees > Hr settings tab to see the additional fields:
- Current Rank: the employees' current rank which is updated automatically based on their current roles and levels.
- Next Targeted Rank: the employees' target rank based on the next level of employees that needs to be achieved.
