Why E-WayBill
An E-Way bill is an electronic document that is required for the movement of goods worth over Rs. 50,000 in India. It is a unique document that contains details such as the goods being transported, the value of the goods, the consignor and consignee details, and the transporter details.
The E-Way bill was introduced by the Government of India to simplify the process of transporting goods across different states in the country. The bill is generated online through the GST portal or other approved platforms, and is used by authorities to verify the movement of goods and ensure compliance with tax regulations.
Once generated, the E-Way bill must be carried by the transporter or the person in charge of the conveyance. It is valid for a certain period of time depending on the distance of transportation, and must be updated with any changes or additional information as required.
