Overview

One thing that companies cannot function without nowadays, is Bank Reconciliations, since they have to interact with financial institutions. As much as it's needed and wanted, it is just as tedious. The biggest problem being lack of standardization and manual reconciliations.

This module enables you to do Online bank synchronization via Plaid. It enables users to link bank journals to their online bank accounts, for supported banking institutions via Plaid, and configure a periodic and automatic synchronization of their bank statements.

You will need to create an account with Plaid independently and then use its credentials to link Odoo to Plaid.

Key FEATURES

1. Configure Plaid Integration

User can set client id, secret key and select an environment for Plaid integration.

2. Automatic Plaid Synchronization

Automatic synchronization of their bank statements to feed directly in Odoo.

3. Set Date Range of Plaid Transactions

User can set start and end date to view specific bank transactions via Plaid.

4. Get Plaid Transactions

User can get the bank transactions which have been done via Plaid.

Configuration

Odoo Side Configuration

Download and Install the app


1 Step: Plaid Client ID and Secret Configuration

Go to account model and click on configuration then click on settings then scroll down and search for Plaid Credentials section

Client ID: Add your client ID in client id field
Client Secret: Add your client secret in client secret field


2 Step: Check your Bank Journal

First make sure you already configure the bank account. If not then create a new bank account
Go to account model and click on configuration then click on Journals from the dropdown.
Select your bank journal from the list and make sure the bank account is linked to it.


3 Step: Everything is ready now start syncing

Go to account model and click on configuration then scroll down and search "Online sync Via Plaid. It will open the list create a new record and select your bank.
Then click on Press the Connect to Plaid button.



4 Step: Login to you Account

Follow the flow and process accordingly, You will get a Bank list. Select the bank (associated with journal).



3 Step: Continue Login to you Account

Enter your login details and you'll be connected to Plaid.
Bank Statement if its connected press the Get Transaction button.
Enter relevant details in the input fields (e.g. dates, Accounts (In case of multiple accounts) etc)
Press the save button and bank statements.

The reconciliations are done by Plaid. It is very useful as the time spent on bank reconciliation.
