Advance Inventory Counting.

Inventory counting is a major operation in inventory management as daily basis for 3PL warehouse and Normal warehouse, Odoo provides this feature with limited functionality. Using the tech-ultra "Advance Inventory Counting" app, you may simplify inventory count with the responsible person. Scroll down to know more about our app.

Working Process

Download and install

Configuration

Users must have user or administrator rights in the inventory to use this app.

Inventory Counting Tab.

After configuring the app, the user will see a new tab Inventory count at the top of the inventory app. In the picture, you can see the inventory status, location, total product, references, and so on.

By clicking the "NEW" button, you may also create New Inventory Counting.

New Inventory Counting

After clicking the new button, new page will open where you can fill required details regarding inventory count like warehouse, dates, product category, product etc.

Internal reference - This is a unique number that is generated automatically once the current page is saved.

Warehouse - You can specify the warehouse for a selected company you want to do an inventory count from.

Location - Select location from warehouse. Here you can select multiple locations.

Product - You can select specific products for which you want to do inventory count.

From date - This is start date from which inventory count will start.

To date - Inventory count will be till this date only.

Created date - Inventory count creation date

Counted Quantities - This is the way to fill counted quantities.

Total Product Quantity - It will show how many products are selected for count.

Include Exhausted Products - when you will enable it, the product with 0 on hand quantities will also display. You can see the result in the inventory line image.

Start Inventory.

Click on start inventory button to start the inventory counting, the user who will start Inventory count will be displayed in kanban view.

Count Inventory

To count the inventory, click the count inventory button. You may also access it by clicking on the inventory line. As shown in the figure, we have a total of 86 products in selected locations; now count the inventory and enter it in the counted box. The inventory differences will be calculated automatically as you enter it.

You can also see products with zero on hand quantities because we have enabled "Include Exhausted Products".

Product Expiry.

Managing inventory count with normal stock and product expired stock, product expiry stock will be checked from the Stock Lot number and the stock Lot has an expiry date so it also counts this expired stock in inventory count.

Product Lot Expiry Configure.

Stock Lot has an expiry date so it also counts this expired stock in inventory count.

Move History.

You may also view move history; simply click on it to see all of the data. That move history will be searched based on the selected criteria of the warehouse, location, Dates, Products, and categories.

Lock

You will be unable to change anything after clicking the lock button. Simply click the unlock button if you want to change it.

Cancel Inventory.

All inventory lines will be deleted after canceling, and the inventory count will be reset to Draft.

Complete Inventory.

When your inventory count is complete, click the "Complete Inventory" button. When you click on it, it validates and the lock button appears.

You can also see the duration in the image above. It will display the whole duration in the inventory count.

Total Product.

The following images show total product. You can see in the first image the total product is 28 and in the second image the total is 86 because the product is displayed from multiple locations in the second image (inventory line).

Duration.

Here you can see the duration (how long it took to count the inventory).

As you can see in the image, we spent 1 hour and 26 minutes counting inventory.

Kanban View.

This is the kanban view of inventory count. You may view inventory details such as the responsible person, start and finish date, length, reference number, and so on.

List View.

Here you can see the duration (how long it took to count the inventory).

As you can see in the image, we spent 1 hour and 26 minutes counting inventory.

1. What is the difference between inventory adjustment in default and inventory count?

Ans. Default inventory adjustment has limited features; but, with this app, you can count inventory by location, product, can track responsible persons, cancel inventory counts if required, track duration, and so on.

2. Can we assign specific employees for inventory count?

Ans. No, you cannot assign an employee; The user who initiates the inventory count will be considered the responsible person.

3. May I know how much time it took for inventory count?

Ans. Yes, after complete inventory you will be able to see the duration.
