Stock Available min QTY

Computes minimal product quantity based on current product supply and future orders.

The stock_available module by OCA computes predicted future quantity of a product. It does it by computing total of moves in and out of a product and presents a final result. It doesn't track the minimal quantity in the meantime, however – it can happen that you run out of stock in the middle of these operations and wouldn't be able to provide the product on scheduled dates.

This module adds 2 new fields to product: Minimal QTY Available and Minimal QTY Available Date. They inform you what will be the minimal quantity of the product based on future stock moves as well as the date when that will happen.

Example

It's 2017-01-21 and we start with product named product with QTY at hand being equal to 10:

Next, we make a Sales Order (to be delivered on 2017-01-23) for 7 items:

Since the product QTY is getting low, we purchase 10 items of it, to be delivered on 2017-01-25:

We make another Sales Order (to be delivered on 2017-01-28) for 6 items:

The end QTY as computed by stock_available is 10 - 7 + 10 - 6 = 7 (the Forecasted Quantity column). However, the minimal stock QTY that we have during that time is 3 right after first order is delivered, i.e. on 2017-01-23:
